The Hands of Wakefield

I'm not sure if others are the same but I find that photography for me - or rather my passion for it - goes in fits and starts. One moment I can't wait to get out there and shoot everything in site - I know what I want to capture, how to do it, and all things tend to come together well enough.
Other days I have absolutely no inclination to even pick up my camera - and so it stays on the shelf.
And then there are days - like today - where I feel inspired to go out and create, or document, or capture, or snap, or whatever it is that I try to do - and it just doesn't come together whatsoever. The light is all wrong (I'll say), my mood is off, there's nothing interesting to shoot....... blah blah blah.

Yesterday I went to the picturesque town (village peut-etre?) of Wakefield, Quebec. It's a quaint Bohemian-esque place on the shores of the Gatineau River that has a billion images waiting to be taken..... And I think I could find about 3 that are merely passable !!

Oh well - got a few here over the next couple of days that I'll share. Hopefully I'll get a chance to head out there again - when the light is better of course!! ;) and try once more.

above: There is a beautiful covered bridge that spans the Gatineau River about 1 km north of downtown Wakefield. I went through there today and found that someone had drawn hands on a number of support beams - rather than defacing the place I found they added some character.
