Cyrille pretty much said it all. I echo him. Where was this taken by the way and does it have any particular meaning? Its caught my curiosity.

@Duncan Galbraith: This is a portion of a Totem Pole - a large ceremonial pole carved by the native aboriginal people of the west coast of Canada and the United States. This particular example was shot at the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Gatineau Quebec.....but you can still find examples out in the woods of British Columbia.... Follow this link for a basic understanding of the significance of the Totem Pole: http://users.imag.net/~sry.jkramer/nativetotems/basics.htm
and Cyrille and Duncan - thanks very much for your comments. cheers. ajk
Love the textures in this shot, it's as if you can reach out and touch the totem, it almost pops out of the picture, lovely image perfect capture.

great shot, 3d effect is almost perfect. was taken with sun light or artificial light? because if it was sunlight you choose the perfect moment!

@ladrodianime: I'd like to have taken the credit for the lighting too - however it was artificially lit at a museum :) For the light I thank the Ottawa Museum of Civilization.
